Spanish rice This recipe for 6 proves that low-sodium doesn't mean low-taste. It's flavored with low- or no-salt products that can be found in most grocery stores. Ingredients3 slices Corn King® low-sodium bacon 1.5 pounds lean ground beef 1 stalk celery, diced 1/2 medium onion, diced 2 cups Minute Rice®, uncooked 2 cups water 3/4 teaspoon chili powder 1/2 teaspoon black pepper 1 small green bell pepper, diced 1 (14.5 oz.) can no-salt stewed tomatoes 2 (8 oz.) cans no-salt tomato sauce 1 (6 oz.) can no-salt tomato paste 2 packets Herb Ox® beef bouillon (low-sodium) 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder Directions- Fry the bacon and crumble.
- In a large skillet, cook the onions and ground beef until the meat is browned. Pour off the fat.
- Mix the bacon and the rest of the ingredients into the meat mixture.
- Cover and simmer over medium heat for about 30 minutes.
- Stir occasionally. You may want to add more water if the rice is too thick.
